Are We Selling Ourselves? Part 2
More to come….
The answer is yes! If you don’t know the question then you need to refer back to the August 12, 2009 blog.
I have joined a wonderful networking group called Rainmakers, www.rainmakers.com. I’m starting my day at a 7:30am breakfast networking event and it goes from there with different meeting and events to network Forgetting 2 Remember.
I have decided that I am going to approach this a bit differently than most do by asking, “who are you?” versus, “ what do you do?”
We all get so wrapped up in what it is that we do that we can easily forget who we are. Our identity becomes what we do!
Yes, I am here to network with others about F2R and to get the seminar out to the world but not at the cost of who I am or who they are.
Another look at the question and I think the answer is somewhere in the middle of yes and no. Yes, we do need to promote ourself and business but not at the cost of being inauthentic.
So away I go in all of my humanity and essence to sell me and I walked away from this day fully understanding that being present to who I am and sharing that with the world is all the selling that I had to do.
And….if you want to flip out the world the next time you meet someone ask them, “who are you?”
Are we selling ourselves?
I recently have become more and more compelled to understand the bigger picture of promoting myself with Forgetting 2 Remember.
Now we come to Forgetting 2 Remember. This is not a tangible business that you can look at and see the results. One has to be able to trust and jump in first to be able to experience the results of the seminar. Past participants can talk of their experience but often others can’t “see.” With a house or a haircut other’s can see the results. With the seminar others can only “feel” or try to understand the others person experience and trust that the person inviting them to the next seminar is doing that because they have experienced the results!
It has come to my understanding that people must first and foremost understand that I have been where you are and experienced what you are experiencing. That I have “earned the right” to teach what I’m teaching which is, a deeper level of self-awareness and growth.
How do I do that? How do I sell myself? Do you need to see the proof of where I have been to know that where I’m at and where I’m going is in the highest regard for humanity, Spirit and our world? What I’m hearing is yes to all of the questions.
So I have a personal growth that needs to evolve from the old pattern of thinking and tell my story in a way in which you might better understand how I have become who I am today.
More to come….
