Raise Your Hand!

Just raise your hand.
I recently heard a great story about being able to ask for help. A friend had spent a few weeks away from home in an effort to overcome an addiction that was destroying both his life and the life of his family.
Interestingly enough, the core of his journey was not focused on the addiction but who this individual was in his heart and soul. An intensive dive into himself revealed how he had let the things that he had an inability to deal with manifest into a different form of escape that, too, was a way of not coping.
After several weeks, he was ready to leave this “safe” house and return back home. Only one thing stood between him being released or having to stay on for a longer period of time, and that was his ability to raise his hand.
Raising your hand means “I can’t do this by myself.” Raising your hand means “I trust you to love me and to comfort me.” Raising your hand means “I need your help.” Raising your hand means “I understand that there is no difference between you and me and together as one world, one community, one family, we can support one another in the name of love.”
He was released.
We are all in this one life, this one journey, this one world, this one community and this one family together and all we have to do is just raise our hand.
When was the last time you were brave enough to raise yours?

The First 100
It is hard for me to imagine that just a few short months ago Forgetting 2 Remember was born.
The labor has been intensive and the rewards have been beyond my wildest dreams.
The pregnancy, however, was many years in creation. It’s birth at the perfect timing.
I love the way God, Source, Higher Power, The Universe, (what ever you choose to call it) is divine in allowing for our highest intentions to become all that we want. Conceiving the idea, allowing for it’s growth and development, nourishing the seed with constant love and commitment, laboring for the many hours of pushing through the process to get to the final results. A masterpiece.
Thanks to all of you that have labored with me, encouraged the process and supported the journey.
You have changed my life! Cheers, to the next one hundred!
Much love and blessings,
Derinda
Is the weekend for you?
Yesterday we sent out our first email newsletter! In the letter was information about the September25-27th weekend Seminar.
Have you wondered if this weekend is right for you?
We invite you to request to speak with past participants of Forgetting 2 Remember about their experience and first hand how the weekend changed their life.
I remember first being invited to a self-awareness seminar and without much thought I said yes! My life was demanding change so that commitment for me was easy. But I still had questions and it was wonderful to speak with someone who could let me know they too had been in my shoes! The weekend changed my life many years ago and now the opportunity for that same experience is here for you.
Attending this powerful retreat is in your hands now and you have nothing to lose by inquiring.
Email me: derinda@forgetting2remember.com let me know what is holding you back from taking the leap to yes!
We promise to catch you in a warm, safe, beautiful setting that will open your eyes to all the possibilities inside you!
Staying the course.
Yesterday I watched a small bird, flying very fast, disappear into the canopy of an oak tree. So dense were its leaves that it was impossible to see what happened next, though I can tell you it remained inside.
I wondered how the little bird found its opening through the leaves at such a speed, and then managed to gently align its fragile body on the branch it chose to land upon, all within a fraction of a second. Not to mention the impossible to imagine flying maneuvers required: the banking, the curling, the vertical and horizontal stabilizations, the deceleration and landing.
Memory? Calculation? Not in that tiny brain. Instinct? Maybe, but how does instinct know which way the branches of a tree have grown when no two are the same?
That little bird just knew. It had faith, in spite of not being able to see how things would work out, that if (and only if) it stayed the course the details would be taken care of; that an opening would appear and a twig would be found. In fact, had she slowed down enough to carefully and logically inspect the tree first, the prudent thing to do, she would have lost her lift and fallen to the ground.
Kind of like reaching for your dreams. Neither memory, nor calculating, nor instincts are the deciding factors, but faith coupled with action.
Tallyho,
The Universe
WARNING: staying the course is NOT the same as clinging to a HOW.
Hope
” Nothing springs so eternal as hope in the human heart.” - J.C. Applegate 1915-2004. (His life was defined by the dash, yesterdays blog)
OK, so maybe you know that quote from someone other than J.C.Applegate. I don’t, I know it from my papa. From the time I was a little girl I remember him saying that to me. We have affectionately referred to his many sayings as “Jerryisms.”
He taught me about hope, courage, hard work, loyality, love, strength, friendship, God, family, and never giving up.
Hope brings me to today’s blog. Hope is something we can always hold on to and keeps us from never being alone on this journey.
Our dreams rest in hope’s arms.
To hope is to expect with desire or to trust. I also learned from my papa that along side hope resides resilience, never giving up.
I send out my intention for this day that not only do I hope that my dreams come true but that I have the resilience to make them come true.
I hope the same for you.
Are you running?

We are either running to or from something.
If you have ever watched a group of children playing at a playground they are always running from one play equipment to another. You never see them just casually walking from place to place. They might miss something or not get there first. They are running to, they have a plan in mind.
It often seems that the older we get the less that we run to something but instead we run away, run away from our feeling, our fears, and ourselves. We just keep running there is no desire to stop and experience life, to feel life. For many of us it has just been too painful.
We don’t want to feel the pain, to sit with the discomfort that life can be at times.
What are you running from? What are you not allowing yourself to feel? What do you think would happen if you stopped? And is all that running actually getting you any further away from what it is that you are trying so hard to get away from?
Our next seminar in July 24-26, it’s time to stop doing the same thing over and over. It is time to take a fresh look. To experience a new way to BE and put the running shoes away. Please think about the weekend for yourself or pass it on to anyone that you know would benefit from gained vision and insight. The weekend is open to anyone 18 years or older, male, female, singles and partnerships.
How about running to something for a change and see what happens! I promise you a safe, loving, supportive and life changing experience.
Trusting
Wow, this one is hard for everyone. We think we have it all worked out in our mind on how our life is going to look. When I’m going to graduate, move to my own place, get a ” real” job in the field that my degree is in, get married, have children, grow old with my loved ones beside me. In our perfect world and all in our perfect plan.
Life has it’s own plan though and most of the time it simply does not match up to what we had in mind. Only a few ever live so contently in their plan, only a few ever have it turn out to way they imagined. Are they the lucky ones? Did the Universe shine more brightly on them than us?
I don’t think so. I think that there is a plan and one of greatness if we can just trust the process. Learning from it’s teachings and even letting go of our own ideas. I believe that even the lucky few that had life turned out on schedule still did that exact thing. Let life lead and embraced it. I believe that everything happens for a reason and that everyone we encounter comes into our life to teach us. The lessons that we can open ourselves up to and grow from helps us in understanding the need to trust. To grow with life, to become life and to be one with life. We all become the lucky ones then, not just the select few.
And the time we most need to trust the journey is the time when we don’t think we can.
