Forgiveness

“Forgiveness means giving up all hope of a better past”Jack Kornfield

I love this!  How often we are stuck in the rut because of a past situation, or our childhood, or some unfair thing that we have experienced.  We can’t move forward!

Forgiveness!  Okay, so life it not always perfect and it doesn’t always turn out in our determined time frame.  But what if it is all perfect in it’s creation and we are exactly where we should be and have experienced everything just the way it is supposed to be?

When we stop holding on to the past and the “unfairness” then we can beautifully live in the present moment of NOW and truly live life.

Forgiveness is a step into love.  The love of yourself!

Happy loving, forgiving and being!

Walking through fear

Everyone has fear. We’re all afraid.

It doesn’t matter how successful, smart or talented we are. Fear comes with the territory of being human and the better we become of walking through it, the more comfortable we can feel.

I recently read a articile on fear and it talked about doing “one bold thing a day.”

I have decided to take this challege for myself.  The Experts say it takes 21 days to change a habit. I don’t know if three weeks will be long enough to change the habitual thinking that fear induces. But no matter how many days, months or years it requires, I think the journey is worth the effort.  So starting today, Monday, May 18th, 2009,  I’m going to do one bold thing a day and see what happens.

As  psychologist David Viscott says, “If you have no anxiety, the risk you face is probably not worthy of you.” So my bold moves are going to be heart racing, stomach churning, hands shaking, walking through fear activities.  I will keep you updated!

As our first launch weekend seminar nears ( May 22-24) I don’t have to walk  far to take the challege.

Won’t you consider joining me in the 21 day walk through fear?

I have to go now, I’m going to call the editor of the local paper to see if they are interested in covering a story about Forgetting 2 Remember.  Wish me luck!

Always do your best!

This is the last of  The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.

Always do your best.  That’s all.  Period, end of the sentence.  No matter what we face in this life if we approach everything doing the best we can then there is no regret, shame or remorse.

The other three agreements, be impeccable with your word, don’t take things personally and don’t make assumptions can only become habits by you always doing your best.

That does not mean that you will never fall short of these agreements but it does mean that you are growing in your awareness and becoming more in line with these intentions.  Like I said before, practice makes perfect and each and every opportunity is one for growth and awareness.

I remember being taught as  a child that you have to, “do your best to be your best.”   So for me this is a lesson in remembering.

Peace be with you on this incredible journey!

Relax!

Anna( my daughter), Rachael(Anna’s friend), Mike and I are on spring break this week.  Mike had a speaking engagement in Washington DC. yesterday.  So Anna, Rachael and I took off for the White House!  It is cherry blossom festival time in DC right now!  What an amazing sight!  I have never seen anything like it before.

I’m always intrigued how people” show-up” differently to the same event.  The crowds were huge, the walking bridge was even at a stand still.  Some people just enjoying it all and others irritated by even the slightest bump.

I wanted to get up on my soap box and tell everyone to RELAX and that I hoped that being there in all that splendor, confusion, warmth, freedom and peace would be the worst think that happened to them that day.  What a blessing!

Being there reminded me to relax, be present and enjoy!

When life get frustrating, as it will, may we all remember to be thankful for being alive, free and able to experience all of life’s gifts, even a lot of people all in the same place at the same time!

Just ”BE” it!

I wonder if I could start a new, around the world slogan with, Just “BE” it?

Everyone spends so much time “doing”, that we forget “being”.

“Be the change you want tho see in the world”- Ghandi

I have always like to peel back the onion on that quote and re-put it out to:“ BE the change you want to see in yourself, in your family, in your neighbor”.  To start on the smaller scale and, then, build it to the world.

What a different day today can “BE”.

If we, Just “BE” it.
