One guy was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a rope tied to their legs. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not. He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.
“Well”, trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and at the age, it’s enough to hold them, as they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.” He was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were. Their powerful and gigantic creature has limited its present abilities by the limitations of its past.
Like the elephants, how many of us go through life holding onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? How many of us refuse to attempt something new and challenging because of our so called MINDSET?
Your attempt may fail, but never fail to make an attempt…
CHOOSE not to accept the false boundaries and limitations created by the past…
Why are you worring?
Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles, it empties today of its strength.
Why do we cross that bridge twice? Once with worry and the other with reality. There is no purpose in that way of thinking.
Mark Twain so insightfully said, ” I have live a long and terrible life, much of which never happen to me.” Worrying creates suffering and we have a choice in choosing to suffer. Staying present to today is a perfect way to avoid such distress.
Something to think about today and everyday.
Make today your best day ever!
It’s our choice.
You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call “failure” is not falling down, but staying down. -Mary Pickford
We hear it over and over again. Choice.
We create from our thoughts and we choose the thoughts.
If we are to manifest change then we must change our message. It is our choice.
Whether what we do in life is a failure or success depends on our thinking and the message we create from that conversation. Again, it is our choice.
If we fall down and choose to stay down or stand and begin again is in a choice that we make. Think about all of the choices that you make everyday and are they coming from a place of fear or of love? Why? Are your choices best serving you? A conversation about choices is a great start to making different choices.
I was reminded in a message I received today that “thoughts become things so choose the good ones!”
Have a happy day full of wonderful creative choices!
Peace of mind through forgiveness
With peace of mind as our goal, forgiveness becomes a path we must walk to reach that goal.
Forgiveness is a self-awareness tool that we can use to correct our misperceptions and for helping us to let go of fear. Simply stated, to forgive is to let go.
With this peace of mind goal in mind we must think of ourselves first in terms of self-fullness, not selfishness. The second step is forgiveness.
We become frustrated when we make the mistake of loving others as the first step. Through our past experiences and distorted views some people simple seem unlovable; because of OUR faulty perception of their behavior it is difficult to love them.
When we have peace of mind as our goal, we can then take that second step, forgiveness, and choose to see others as extending Love, or being fearful and calling for help in the form of Love.
With this change in perception, it becomes easier to give both total love and acceptance to the other person and in return experience inner peace at the same time.
Other people do not have to change for us to experience peace of mind. It is a choice within you.
Eeyore or Tigger?
For years my children, Wilson(19) and Anna (15), have had to listen to my outlook on life.
I would drop them off at school and remind them to makes it a Tigger day!
You see, we get to decide! It is our choice. We can either decide to be Eeyore and walk through life with a dark cloud over our head or be Tigger and “bounce” at the chance to enjoy the day. Eeyore functions from a place of fear, afraid of what the day might be and always preparing for the worst. Tigger functions from love, open to the day and excited about the possibilities!
It Monday morning, start of a new week. You decide Eeyore or Tigger?
My choice, I say make it a Tigger day!
Happy bouncing!
