Giving and receiving

Is one easier for you than the other? For me it has always been easy to give.
I love to give, I love watching the face of the receiver and seeing the happiness in their eyes. Giving brings me great joy. I know that concept was instilled in me at a very young age. I was brought up with the teaching that if you borrow one cup of flour, then you gave back two! If you borrow someones car filled it up to the rim with gas and then for good measure run it through the carwash too!

What I have come to understand is, because of that, I have a hard time receiving. Accepting gifts, compliments, and help. I feel that I need to do something in return for their kindness and generousity.

What I have also come to understand that by graciously accepting is a gift to the giver. A simple thank you, a loving embrace, seeing the light shine in someones eyes!

With that knowledge there is no different in giving or receiving, they both truly are acts of giving! The gift comes with holding the beautiful balance of both!

Laugh, dance and love!

I just received the t-shirts that I ordered from

ellen.warnerbros.com
One is dark blue and says: Laugh, Dance, Change.  The other one is red
and says: Laugh, Dance, Love.
Getting the shirts reminded me of a message that I received earlier
 this week from www.tut.com :

People, when given the chance, smile, skip and dance.  They create, play
and laugh.  They share, care and love.  And the ones who don’t,  haven’t yet realize that chances are something you give yourself.

Thank you for being apart of this week with me!  Give yourself a great weekend!

Take it to the Bank!

Today is about making deposits, withdraws and stimulating the economy!

How is your bank acount looking?  We forget to stop and take a good look at our bank at times.  If we are doing nothing but withdrawing from our account then soon we will  dry up and lose everything.  We have to make sure that we are depositing  something everyday;  positive thoughts, self- care, meditation, and things that make you feel good about you.  Only if our account has something in it will there be something to give.

I functioned from a overdrawn account for many years thinking that was the right thing to do. Give, give, give!!!!  There was nothing to give!  Only when a started to come to the understanding that to take care of one’s self is self-full, not selfish ,was I able to start re-depositing into my account.  I have so much more to give now!  I make sure that my deposits are more than my withdraws, it feels good to be in the green!

Talking about stimulating the ecomony, that takes a full account also.  The whole world benefits, changes and grows!

Today’s challenge is to do something for yourself, find ten minutes, stop, breathe, re-deposit.  It doesn’t take  a lot  of time but it does need to be done everyday.  Be the change you want to see in the world, it starts with you.

Happy depositing!
